Short Stories
in action

Our three advanced English courses in K2 took the chance to see a new and different interpretation of the short stories that form the basis of “On the Move: Migration and Cross-Cultural Encounters”, the current core topic of the curriculum. The five-person ensemble of the American Drama Group Europe transformed five of these stories into plays that captured the conflicts of the protagonists in a very touching manner.

The variety of accents and the dynamic acting with only few props that were used to create very different atmospheres, were especially impressive. The use of music, singing and dancing sparked mixed reactions in our group: while some found it entertaining, others considered it distracting.

Nevertheless, many students said that seeing the stories performed helped them to refresh their memories and gain new perspectives. All in all, the experience was a great break away from our typical lessons.

The accompanying teachers Mrs. Coskun, Mrs. Kuse and Mrs. Leiß were pleased to offer this experience to their students.
